For years, my family and I have been driving out scenic Warm Springs Canyon for soaks in the crystal clear Frenchman’s Hot Spring. The last few hundred yards of the drive pass through an old community of cabins that could easily be the set for a Hollywood movie. However, one property in particular, Croney Cove, hides behind thick willow which only allows hints at what lies beyond.

Holly and Mike were married beyond the willow in quintessential mountain river backdrop that is Croney Cove. Holly began her wedding day with a soak in the private hot springs located on the property, moved into one of the rustic cabins with decorations straight out of a Restoration Hardwear catalog for her preparations, and met Mike after walking down the riverside aisle at her ceremony.

Heather Minor coordinated their fantastic day with Nathan Hudson mixing tunes that kept the party on the dance floor until the last bus shuttled their remaining guests into Ketchum for the afterparty.

Mike, you wore down the dance floor! Holly, you were a beautiful and gracious bride! Congratulations to you both.

One of the crazy aspects of working as a photographer is how we often times jump into events and ask those around us their trust with capturing their image. This is especially true for wedding gigs as we get right into a highly emotional day often times only knowing our clients for a few hours prior. A week and a half ago, I photographed for Brad and Kat here in Sun Valley and prior to their wedding day, had only spent an hour with them at Grumpy’s getting their final schedule and details organized. As with most couples the last few weeks before their wedding, there was a hint of stress at our initial meeting. However, these two were all smiles and full of happiness on their wedding day. They, and their guests, were such fun to be around; easy going, sincere, and ready for a party. Their exuberance was contagious and their family and friends followed their lead throughout the day and into the night. Congrats Brad and Kat! I hope your honeymoon time on the Pacific was off the charts!

Mary and Steve flew up from San Francisco a few weeks ago to be married at the Elkhorn Clubhouse in Sun Valley, Idaho, with their reception just down the way at the Elkhorn Restaurant. One of the highlights occurred during their first dance when Steve busted some suave moves both romantic and unexpected. By the genuine smiles around their guest’s conversations and the footwork on the dancefloor, it seemed to me that everyone had a great time!
